The Gendai Bible combines the holiness of Scripture with the ancient Japanese form of haiku. Each Bible haiku reflects a chapter of Scripture in the seventeen syllable phrase that is the tradition of haiku poetry. Bible haiku is like the light from a distant star. If we desire to know the planets, moons or galaxy from which a starlight shines, we must go to the source. Similarly, to fully understand the content of Bible haiku, we must go to the Scripture from which the poetry is composed. Or, like when enjoying starlight, we can pause, meditate, and chant each haiku so that its spirituality can bless our soul. read more
