BIBLE HAIKUBible Haiku combines the holiness of Scripture with the ancient Japanese form of haiku poetry. Each of the following haiku poems reflect a chapter of Scripture in the seventeen-syllable phrase that is the tradition of haiku poetry. These Bible haiku are like light from a distant star. If we desire to know the planets, moons and suns from which the light shines, we must look more deeply into the galaxy from which it comes. Similarly, to fully understand the content of a Bible haiku, we must go to the Scripture from which the poetry is derived. Or, perhaps like when enjoying starlight, we can pause, meditate, and ponder each haiku so that its meaning and beauty can bless our soul. |
